FAQ
K12 (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate) has a shorter chain and stronger foaming power with slightly higher irritancy. AES (Sodium Laureth Sulfate) contains ethoxy groups, making it milder with softer foam. They are often blended to balance performance and mildness.
At typical usage levels, K12 is safe. However, compared to milder surfactants (such as AES or amino acid surfactants), K12 has slightly higher irritancy. In personal care formulations, irritation can be reduced by blending with other mild surfactants.
Yes. K12 has good biodegradability and meets modern environmental requirements.
Both have similar active matter content (≥92%). The main difference is physical form. Needle crystals dissolve at a moderate rate, while powder dissolves faster. The choice depends on your production process and dissolution equipment.
